East London Business PlaceBuilding Legacies Programme Contact: Simon LewinBiographical Info
The “Building Legacies” programme, a partnership of private and public sector organisations, is a flagship local business growth and procurement support project of the East London Business Place (ELBP) and Newham College of Further Education’s Centre for Innovation & Partnerships (CIPs) that enhances the competitiveness of small and medium sized enterprises.
Building Legacies provides an innovative service for SMMEs and start-up businesses, predominantly (but not exclusively) in construction, digital/creative and care-related sectors to enable them to become “fit to supply” providing tailored solutions to SMMEs through Workshops, Briefings, Masterclasses, Toolkits, Networking and 1-2-1 coaching & mentoring.
The programme offers intensive business support to ensure 400 SMMEs benefit from east London and Legacy buying opportunities, utilising ERDF funding to deliver a sustained supported programme tackling gaps in SMMEs’ innovation, contract-readiness and knowledge of procurement and supply-chain requirements.
The programme model is based on a tailored programme of support, underpinned by an engagement and brokerage service for main contractors and buying organisations to help diversify their supply chains, through their local supply chain management strategies.
